Letters As... is a multi-fandom letter exchange community.
Letters As... is not meant to be a pen pal community. Instead of writing to others as yourself, or receiving letters from a friend, members are encouraged to send and receive letters as characters from their fandoms. It is another way of exchanging fan fiction, stories which pass through our hands as tangible artifacts before they are posted to the community for all to enjoy.
Some rules:
1. Personal Information: Because the exchange of mail deals with real-world addresses, please, above all else, use your best judgment and common sense when giving out your address. Do not post your real-world mailing address directly to the community. Instead, fill out a profile in your introductory post with your preferred means of contact, either via email, IM, or DW's messaging system, etc., through which you can exchange addresses.
2. Cut tags and image sizes: Place images of your letters and artifacts under cut tags, and make sure that the image does not overlap the boundaries of the journal entry border. If necessary, you can post a link to the images instead.
3. Harassment: No form of harassment will be tolerated in this community. Please also note that the use of postal services as a means to harass a person is illegal in most if not all countries and can be prosecuted by law. If you have a problem with another member, please contact me immediately. If you believe someone is misusing your personal information, please contact me AND your local law enforcement immediately.
4. Age Limit: Because this project involves the exchange of personal information and must by necessity reveal your home address or general location to your correspondent, you must be 18 years or older to participate in the Letters As... community.
More rules will be added as necessary, but my goal is to keep the rules to a bare, necessary minimum as the community establishes its own useful patterns and culture of participation.
